With the latest release of his LP, Kats The Musical, the critically acclaimed EP, The Shit-Kid Movement, and the explosive Shit-Kid Mixtape, Kats has cornered the Shit-Kid market making his impact felt in every dirtbag's living room where bong water has at one time or another stained the carpet. A veteran of the rap game, Kats has blessed his adoring public with Golden-i: The Enlightenment, Recurring Illness, Call Me Kats, and a now infamous collaboration with MC Babymaker, Asstronuts. As you may already know, both Kats The Musical and The Shit-Kid Movement are available for sale on iTunes , Napster and Rhapsody . Kats is already working on new songs for his forthcoming album. Building on the success of his first two albums, Kats the Musical (featuring a title track that has attained cult-classic status on New York's underground hip-hop scene) and Almost Fameless, Kats has won the admiration of many fans and earned the respect of a few critics. And the acclaim is merited: Kats infuses subtle, humorous social commentary and clever pop-culture references into complicated, intricately crafted rhyme schemes, while his production team, headlined by DJ SmutVillain and Andy B, keep him well-supplied with inspiring crowd-inciting beats. More impressive than his albums are Kats’ live shows. He has performed at the Knitting Factory, Crash Mansion, Bowery Poetry Club, Baggot Inn, Midway, Pussycat Lounge and Supreme Trading, just to name a few New York venues.
