Don't become another band to sit on the ass and stay in the comfort zone." This is the promise premier Brisbane hardcore band HEREAFTER made themselves when they formed in the autumn of 2006. A mere two years on, and it would be difficult to suggest that this hard and aggressive young ensemble aren't ones to stand by their values: in this short time they have toured the East Coast of Australia, overseas to Singapore, Indonesia and Malaysia, and secured support slots with such celebrated Australian bands as Parkway Drive, Deez Nuts, Confession, Mourning Tide, House vs Hurricane, Carpathian and Against, as well as international acts such as Comeback Kid, Misery Signals, Incarnation and Verse to name a few. Having completed their second highly successful tour of South-East Asia with Misery Signals at the start of 2009, the band has hit the ground running, promising more in 2009 with the release of more songs, a tour of Australia and plans for yet another visit overseas. Seamlessly melding crushing guitars, an utterly destructive rhythm section, aggressive, powerful vocals, and fusing this formidable mixture with less-traditional elements ranging from jazz to latin to rock n' roll, HEREAFTER deliver a veritable cataclysm of sound that is fresh and unique amongst the metal and hardcore scene of today. |
