About Me
I BELIEVE: Attitude is everything. Staying positive is an effort worth making. Laughter heals and softens and allows light even on my darkest days. The ability to laugh at myself keeps everything in perspective. I believe in a moral world where we can't always do what we want. Discernment is a something I am still working on. I am lucky that my parents taught me right from wrong and I try to stand firm even when it isn't popular or easy. When the world is perfect I go to sleep with the peace of knowing I am EXACTLY where I am intended to be. Mostly, I am happy right where I am. Myspace Graphics GENERALLY: I love and live for my son although he can be a pain (teenager!) he is smart, fun, talented, and is on his way to becoming a great man and leader. I have a wonderful relationship with my parents who are still in love, celebrating 52 years together. My parents have always loved me unconditionally and have given me the support which has allowed me the freedom in life to take risks. In other words, I haven't always made the best choices, but they were mine. When I have fallen short, I always have known that I am still loved. And I have fallen short more than once. Such is life. I want to LIVE and that means making choices. Some good, some not so good. I am nowhere near perfect, but I try to always be thoughtful of others. I CARE about my friends. I CARE about strangers. I am nice. Too nice. I go out of my way to be helpful. Sometimes people take advantage of me, but I'm ok with that because I think my spirit of helpfulness is one of my best qualities... I love God and believe deeply in Him.ON LOVE: I am not afraid to love and hope to find my one and only (once again!). I think compassion and kindness are sexy in a man. Bad boys are not as attractive as they used to be. Love clouds my vision. Love makes life worth living. Love is more than a word - it is the life you lead, the actions you take, the sacrifices made, the reward at the end of the day. Love given is not conditional upon deeds done or worth. Love is a gift. Love heals all wounds and when betrayed hurts beyond belief. I believe in forgiveness because I have been forgiven many times. I try and remember the good and let go of the bad. People tell me this is not always a good thing. Maybe, but that is me and I'll take the repercussions.FRIENDSHIP: I love the peace and security of true friendship. I have very few TRUE friends. The people you can count on in the middle of a rainstorm when your car is broken down and you have no way of moving it and no money to fix it and yet they show up without hesitation to make it all better... For me, friendship is a willingness to help in actions and in honesty. It is based on trust, safety and need. Friendship is the most important relationship of all because a friend doesn't have to be here, but choses to be. It is a different love than all others, truly the most selfless ~ and the treasure I protect and value most...AND FINALLY... I believe in miracles. I have experienced them in my life. I believe that there is a solution to every obstacle in life, but sometimes it sucks. I know that life isn't fair, but it is exactly what you make it. Make it amazing. Share life with people you trust. Know that there is evil in the world and don't be a part of it. Help people who ask and those who are afraid to. Trust your "gut". Learn something every day. Teach what you have learned. Don't be afraid to share, and let others share with you. Don't be a bully. Be aware of the world and what is happening. Formulate opinions and express them. Have an open mind. Don't agree with everything. Experience things you never dreamed you could. Take a breath and think before you speak. Look into the mirror and like what you see. I'd like to meet: Hmmmm... a really fun, kind, compassionate, good-looking guy who is comfortable in his own skin.
