NEWS FLASH Spud has a new Electric Band featuring friends Jerry Rig (Bass) and Billy Gruff (Guitars) with SD on the Tubs, singin' & carryin' on... yea huh Spud Davenport & the Messy Necessities are comin' !!!! Put THAT in yer Diary My debut album, Green, features me, Spud, on a variety of instruments such as Drums, Piano, Accordian, Acoustic Guitar, Organ, Dinner Triangle, Kitchen Skillets, and Vocals. Instead of playing everything (because really I can't, duh), I employed some of San Diego's favorite talents; Dave Howard on Electric Guitars, THE Marcia Claire on Bass Guitar & Vocals, Anilh Rameshwar on Trumpet & Piano on the Title Track, and Cathryn Beeks & Astra Kelly on Backing Vocals. The album was done at BigRock Studios, Escondido, CA with the help of the incredibly talented Andy Machin. Pick up a copy and ENJOY! Influences: All the great and off-center singer /songwriter / composers of the last half century: from Chuck Berry and Little Richard to John Lennon and Ray Davies, from Lucinda Williams and Steve Earle to Frank Zappa and Trent Reznor.
