About Me |
|
| Welcome, and thanks for stopping by.
For as far back as I can remember I've been fascinated by electronics, sounds, and music. I remember my first radio, a Fisher Price cassette recorder. Curious as to how it worked, I took it apart and separated all of the pieces. After conducting an extensive examination, I managed to piece it back together in working condition. I was way too young to understand the theory behind track recording, but not too young to build a fascination with recording. I would take my recorder everywhere and record everything. I would record the local Top Ten at Ten Countdown, stop during commercials, then roll the tape back just a little to smooth the transition between tracks. I think my mom still has some of the old tapes. I continued this method until the introduction of affordable CD-R technology in the mid 90's. This was the around the same time I was exposed to electronic music. Some of the artists that I remember bumpin' were, The Chemical Brothers, Prodigy, The Crystal Method, and Moby. Electronic music opened my eyes to the fact that there was more to music than what I heard on FM radio. Needless to say, I was hooked. At the turn of the 21st century, music rapidly became even more digital with the invention of the MP3 and this little file sharing service called Napster. This shook the very foundation of "The Industry", which in turn caused counter moves such as lawsuits and DRM protected content. This really began to piss me off, and sparked my hatred for mainstream American music. This convinced me to follow an interest I had in DJing, and luckily my best friend gave me my first set of tables and a mixer as a birthday gift. It's hard to top the feeling of dropping the needle for the first time on a new set of decks, but I would eventually grow tired of relying on other artists to provide me with good quality music. Finally, I decided to take the producer route, and started creating my own tracks. My first setup consisted of a PC running Fruity Loops and Acid 3.0. This didn't satisfy my creative needs for long and eventually led me to the purchase of my Pro Tools LE setup w/ the original MBox. You can check out a list of my current equipment in the "Sounds Like" section to the left. Nowadays, I create everything from scratch, eliminating the need for prepackaged beats and loops. I am a motivated self-learner and have taught myself to proficiently use Pro Tools LE, operate and record MIDI instruments w/ attention to the management of important MIDI data, create detailed melodies and arpeggios, and mix down with the best of them all while holding down a full time job. If you put your mind to something, anything is possible. I am currently seeking musicians/singers/songwriters for some collabo work. One can never network enough, so if you're interested, hit me up and lets make history. Once again, thanks for stopping by and don't forget to check back periodically for newly posted singles. |
