| Venus 2 is an electric duo that love to perform and entertain! The duo, Diane J and Bruce B, have been in the music industry for some years now in previous rock bands throughout NSW such as Pop Rivets, and Diamond Blue. Bruce was in Tamworth doing interviews for his programe, "The 4th Floor", on 2CCC radio, Gosford when he met Diane at a Vanessa Amorossi gig at "The Vault". They formed a relationship from this point on and then began Venus 2 which is now a full time working duo that travels thoughout the state to entertain crowds of all ages! They are now based in Sydney and have performed at venues from Sydney, Central Coast, Newcastle, Port Macquarie, and Crescent Heads to Gulgong, Dunedoo, Bellbird, Lithgow and Bathurst, to name just a few! They say, the best kick out of performing is getting the crowd up on the dance floor and seeing them enjoy the music they supply. The pair were finalists in the 2005 ABC Music Awards with their original song, “Fairytale” which was their first attempt of writing and recording material together, the music all recorded and mixed at home. The track has been receiving airplay on various radio stations for some months now and is available for sale. There are many more original pieces in the shadows waiting to be completed and recorded in the future, though there will be a CD soon available of some of the covers they perform during their show, this is due to requests from many people that catch the duo at one of their shows.For their working class gigs that creates their income, Venus 2 perform a wide range of retro classics material that range from the 70’s through to the current chart music. A mixture of pop, disco, rock, country, and ballads that should keep everyone satisfied. Diane has always enjoyed country rock and ballads, though also Aussie rock bands and entertainers. Bruce grew up with Rollingstones, Deep Purple, Status Quo, Cold Chisel, ACDC, Santana, The Eagles, Chuck Berry, Beatles, Johnny Winter, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, and so many more guitar oriented entertainers! They are still adding to their list of influences; it never stops, there is always someone out there in the incredible world of music that comes along and influences you - people like Tommy Emmanuel and Steve Morse!! Bruce's son, Joel Black, has been added to Bruce's list of favourite guitarists! We are also so proud of Joel and his accomplishments along with his friend Tommy Williams, both of Tommirock Studios, who along with Col Finlay have just released Col's single, "Get Your Country On", last week at the Tamworth Country Music Festival and to find the song has gone straight into the No 4 position on the Aria Australian singles charts, No 31 on the Aria International Charts, and in at No 1 on the Australian Air Charts for Independant Artists singles.
