When Tammi Stone (Stonie!) cracks open the microphone, you have no choice but to feel her warm, charming, affectionate, caring, dynamic, rock solid presence. Her personality and smooth voice is like a magnet to your ears, flowing across the airwaves. A graduate of Colonel White High School for the Arts in 1995, located in her hometown of Dayton, Ohio, Tammi was uncertain what career she wanted to pursue after high school. "All I knew is that I loved music, loved the arts, loved communicating with people, and that I had always made friends easily", recalls Tammi. As a child, music was a major part of Tammi's life. She often found herself thinking she talked too much! It is no wonder that Tammi has dominated the airwaves since the conception of her radio career. Tammi has always enjoyed helping and informing the community. She started her career as a Human Resource Specialist, allowing her to assist others in reaching their goals, and enabling her to teach them how to go after what they want, and most importantly need, in life. After making making friends with syndicated on-air personalities Doug Banks and DeDe McQuire in Dallas, Texas, as well as local radio talent in Dayton, Ohio, Tammi definitely knew radio was the path she wanted to pursue. Tammi was mentored by the late Nikki Brooks (Kelly Dee Wilson), an on-air announcer with WROU FM. "Nikki told me that she knew I could do it! She had all the faith in the world in me" Tammi says. After the untimely death of her newfound friend and inspiration, Tammi decided to aggessively pursue her dream in the field of broadcasting. "Nikki's death, along with guidance from other announcers was not only my motivation, but it also taught me that life was too short and the sky is the limit!" Speaking to Michael Ecton, a radio veteran, Program Director, and on-air personality at AM 1210 WDAO radio in Dayton about her aspirations, Michael saw her raw talent, and made the decision to take her under his wing and train her to be the exceptional announcer that she is today. After only two weeks, Michael her 'Tamara Coleman- Midday Host'. Pressing to be the prominent on-air announcer that she aspired to be, her determination, performance skills, and drive landed Tammi a posiion at Dayton's Number One Urban Radio Station, WROU/ U-92 Jams! FM. Tammi has done everything from Live Broadcast, producing major syndicated shows such as he Doug Banks Morning Show and the Tom Joiner Morning Show, and acting as personal producer for the BentRoc/Big Les Mix Show via ISDN out of New York. She was also the main weekend announcer, as well as the only female announcer at WROU. Tammi was a major force of commercial production for Hawes-Saunders Broadcasting Properties Inc. With broadcasting, being like the air that Tammi breathes, she cannot stop! Tammi is on a mission, intent on fulfilling her dream to become a dynamic force on the airwaves of the The Gem City!
