Andreas Wiig and Hana Beaman Capture Slopestyle Titles in Vans Cup at Northstar-at-Tahoe. Norwegian Andreas Wiig and SoCal shredder Hana Beaman continued their prowess this season in Slopestyle as each captured their first titles at the Vans Cup at Northstar-at-Tahoe Resort on Saturday afternoon. Wiig, who took first at the X Games in Aspen last month, won $21,000 for his efforts. The Vans Cup at Tahoe television special debuts on FUEL TV in two parts on May 7 and May 21 at 9:30 PM ET/PT. EERO WINS BEST VIDEO PART POLL! The people have spoken, and the best video part of the year according to our expert panel of judges, you guys, was Eero Ettala’s ender in Mack Dawg Productions latest offering, Follow Me Around. Was it his serious street missions, his switch double backs into pow’, or the double rodeo ten ender? Probably all of the above and then some. JP took second for his two-year ender in Forum’s, That. Trice came in at third for his juicy AK filled part in Absinthe’s, More. French Canadian killer, Etienne took fourth for his sick all-around ender in MDP’s, People. For photos: click here ANDREAS TAKES THE GOLDS AT X-GAMES Andreas Wiig won his second Gold Medal in as many days at Winter X 11, defeating Travis Rice in the final of the Snowboard Best Trick Showdown. Wiig brought his switch backside 1260 to bear in the fading light of Buttermilk Mountain’s Best Trick course, and despite Rice’s attempts to stick his amazing double cork 1080 to trump the Norwegian, he could not find the landing gear on either of his Finals attempts. more SNOWBOARDER MAG's "RIDER OF THE YEAR" Every year Snowboarder Magazine announces their "Rider of The Year" Award by ranking the top ten and Eero Ettala was just named number 2! Placing 2nd for having the "Best Video Part" and being the "Best Jibber of the Year". This is what other riders in Snowboarder Mag had to say. Andreas Wiig, speaking of his video part in Mack Dawg’s “Follow Me Around” said it is truly amazing to put all those rails and jumps together in one part. Clearly a recipe for video part of the year. Wiig was especially taken back by one trick in particular: “Eero’s double backside rodeo 1080 was so sick! It looked like he slept the whole way around and then woke up to land it!" J.P. Walker, said that Eero definitely deserves some love. FS boardslide down a four kink rail, that is next level! And the consequences are insane on the double kink with a turn in it. Eero’s knowledge of top level riding has been incorporated in everything he works with at Nitro. His ability to do it all has kept us all on our toes. Congrats Eero!
