| In the beginning, PussyVibes was only a side project that Nelson had at the time he fronted another death metal band called Massive Carnage. Massive Carnage played a more mainstream form of death metal, which didn't totally fullfil his need to make extreme music. So during his free time, he would write more grindcore oriented songs with strong influences from some of his favorite bands like Carcass and Brutal Truth. With the aid of a computer to program the drum kit and record the remaining instruments, PussyVibes began to emerge. And so the Demo Can U Smell It? was released in 2000. All the tracks were played and vocalized by Nelson, with the exception of the track Demented, Depraved and Idle where Bruno lent his vocal skills. Shortly after, Massive Carnage died off due to professional obligations and, consequently, PussyVibes was also buried. Years later in 2006, Nelson and a long time friend, Pedro, discussed their urge to play in a grindcore band and suddenly PussyVibes was breathing again. But this time in whole different way! The other members were found instantly. Jonas on bass, Big on guitar, Pedro on drums and Bruno to pair off with Nelson on vocals. And in a flash, PussyVibes was back from the dead! In October, 2006, Jonas decided to focus his efforts on his other band and left PV. It took a few months to find a replacement, but Batista eventually emerged as the new bass grinder. In April, PV celebrated its first year as a live band. They played every corner of Portugal, from small clubs to festivals with bands like Napalm Death, Haemorrhage, Sublime Cadaveric Decomposition, Cock and Ball Torture. Preparing themselves for another year of grindcore destruction, the band was forced to replace Pedro and Big in order to achieve their objectives and grow as a band. A new drummer and guitar player have been found and will be announced shortly. PussyVibes is currently in the studio recording more than a dozen tracks for an upcoming release and a musicvideo is already in the works! The band can't wait to grind on stage once more and make your ears bleed! |
