Then read this: I will make art. I will make you look good. You will be satisfied with the shoot. You will be glad you did this, and will smile when you see the pictures. I challenge you to model, or not to model at all. Break free of the normal train of thought and indulge in pure truth. Human nature is a beautiful thing. :) I just graduated with my BFA in Photography and would like to let go of my inhibitions and just SHOOT! I'm continuing on into grad school and it's time for a change. I'm talking weird stuff, dirty stuff, crazy compulsive unmentionable stuff. Things that people think shouldn't be happening, things that scare me, things that scare you! I want the camera to capture that -- I want the sick amazing clear beautiful truth to be put into a picture. I want small common habits, moments when nobody is supposed to be looking, deep subconscious thoughts that one itches to satisfy, to try. I want to understand the human condition... Now that I've scared off the wusses and flakes, here is the dirt. *I prefer to shoot on location, in the city, in the country, at abandoned buildings, in quiet gardens, quaint rooms in old houses, but... *I have access to a very large pro studio, and a smaller school studio, plus my home studio. *I work soooooo much better with hair and makeup, and if i'm lucky, wardrobe too. Everyone loves stylists!!! Don't have stylists? Bring your friends... *Bring your friends! I often encourage random people on set to join in and model; they always love it. *Be weird. Bring weird people. Bring HOT people. Bring your inhibitions, and lack thereof. Be yourself. *Oh, and I shoot film BABY! I live for the anticipation of development. I compose, then I take the shot. Sometimes waiting is fun, sometimes if I am really lucky, I get a shot I don't expect. :) UPDATE!! While I love my medium and 35 workhorse boxes, I got a super-awesome Nikon D300 kit with tons of bells and whistles to go with it. So, anyone up for digital? *AND holy crap I work 3 photography jobs, I make time to do test shoots and TF*. *I have been known to stop what i'm doing, leave school/work, and go shoot a COOL idea. *Just need a photog? Tell me your hair-brained idea and maybe I'll shoot it. wink Also: |
