| app1901 entstand im Sommer 2006. Ursprünglich als Seitenprojekt von Voleurs gedacht gewann das Kölner Projekt durch die Begeisterung der beiden Bandmitglieder zunehmend an Bedeutung. Die Lieder sind ruhig, zum Teil meditativ, und vor allem stimmungsvoll. Christine Birkhovens Stimme schwebt wie eine (Gewitter-)Wolke über den meist düsteren Klanggebilden von Robert Lindauer, der hauptsächlich mit Samples, Bass und Gitarre arbeitet. Es wird meist auf Spanisch gesungen, da Muttersprache von Christine die ursprünglich aus Chile kommt und seit 10 Jahren in Deutschland lebt. Am Bass spielt Peter Kruppa, dazu werden die Lieder auch oft von Gastmusikern begleitet, die das Instrumentarium bereichern. app1901 comienza en el verano del 2006 -en un principio como un proyecto paralelo a Voleurs- fue tomando cada vez más importancia debido al entusiasmo de ambos miembros de la banda. Los temas son tranquilos, por un lado meditativos, por otro lado melancólicos, pero por sobre todo son capaces de crear una atmósfera especial. La voz de Christine Birkhoven vuela coma una nuve (de lluvia) sobre las melodías-en gran parte oscuras- de Robert Lindauer, quien trabaja más que nada con samples, bajo y guitarra. En casi todas las canciones canta Christine en castellano-su lengua madre, ya que nació en Chile y hace 10 años vive en alemania.
