| In the past, Dan has toured with The Boulevards based out of New Orleans. He spent about 7 years out in Colorado in the 90's growing up and absorbing the music scene in Boulder and working the clubs in Denver. The Boulevards were a hard working blues band in Colorado for a while playing all over the state and touring when they could. After that, he formed his own group Rare Form who were based in Denver. The power trio was an all original project with LA studio musician Beto Hale on drums and Denver bassist Steve Morrow. A recording at the Soiled Dove in downtown Denver was the highlight of the band with "A Groove" being recorded at that point. Reflecting on his NY band The DF Project started in 2001, "I've been through several different lineups over the years, and it's a big challenge to keep the group alive and growing musically". That challenge has proven positive for Dan with gigs under his belt at The Knitting Factory in Manhattan, Kenny's Castaway's (didn't Bruce play there?), The Fox Theatre in Boulder, and The House of Blues in New Orleans. Dan has opened up for such artists as Keller Williams, Jerry Garcia Band w/Melvin Seals and Jumpin' Johnny Sansone. Also, he recently won second place in the LIBS solo blues competition in 2007 held in Patchogue, LI. On the teaching end, Dan currently offers guitar, bass and piano lessons privately.Several of the tracks available on this page are part of an all acoustic cd recorded last year entitled "Cabin Fever" with the exception of "A" Groove which was recorded in Denver in 2000. "Trippers Delight" is a new exciting avenue for Freedman. Recently, he's been writing and recording "experimental music" on the keyboards with various effects.
