Indie/rock’n’roll band Moral Soul were formed in April 2006 by vocalist & rhythm guitarist Marc Farrell and lead guitarist & keyboard player Jono Powell. Together they wrote & recorded their debut ep which was soon played on local radio station Express FM . Then with the addition of James Fraser on bass and James Ferraby / Fezzy B on drums & backing vocals, they went on to play their first gig at Storm in London’s Leicester Square.

The band spent most of January and February of 2007 in the studio and at the end of January they played their second gig where they supported Alabama 3 at London’s Dirty South. They continued to tour the UK, receiving some great live reviews, all the while adding to a steadily growing fanbase. Then in July they released the long awaited debut album “ Seven ” on their own label Splendid! Records via iTunes . The album was rapturously received and is slowly becoming a radio favorite, having tracks played on Kerrang Radio , Original FM and Radio Kesgrave . In October the band went on to support The Happy Mondays at Brixton’s Jamm and in November they won the AKG Unsigned Heroes competition at 2007’s Music Live in Birmingham. On New Years Eve they rounded off the year back where it started at London’s Dirty South where they supported Babyshambles and, for the second time in 2007, Alabama 3 .

So far this year, Moral Soul have already been nominated for a Red Stripe Music Award and an Indy Award , and in January they supported Palladium and Alphabeat at Brighton’s Barfly. The band have got a strong following and are about to start the third leg of their 2008 UK tour , which in March will see them play alongside Inspiral Carpets in Brixton.
