About Me
Dirtyfake started playing together at the end of the 90s. Their first acoustic and dark approach to sound turned rapidly into an incisive Indie rock.From the beginning the band was influenced by both American Indie rock and English mainstream New wave. Dirtyfake is formed by: Byron, Danny, Sixie and Andy.The name Dirtyfake is the union of the most emblematic words from the beginning of the new millennium. Fake (in the meaning given by Debord and La societÃ© du spectacle) that has deeply penetrated society; and dirty as dirty business and politics which are taking humanity towards a premature ending.The name Dirtyfake is also clear controversy to the last musical productions of the major record producers who pretend to supply an alternative. Dirtyfake matured musically playing all over Italy.Their lyrics talk about isolation, heartbreak, inadequacy, visions. In 2004 they recorded their album, Dirtyfake, a self-production at Hombre Lobo Studio in Rome. Some of the songs such as Love Waits, The Goldkingwoman and Scratch have been played by radio stations since 2003. At the moment their new album, The last mad thing that I have seen, is being recorded at Gianmarco Bellumori's Wolfstudio, which is well known in the Roman wave scene.I Dirtyfake nascono ufficialmente a Roma nel 1998, dalle ceneri di alcuni progetti musicali maturati durante gli anni novanta. Cominciano con sonorita' acustiche e dark per passare rapidamente all'indie-rock elettrico. Le influenze sono tanto quelle sotterranee degli Slint, Karate, Godmachine quanto quelle piu' mainstream dei Placebo, Pixies, Smiths, Radiohead, Nirvana, Cure. I Dirtyfake sono formati da quattro pessimi elementi: Byron, Danny, Sixie ed Andy. I Dirtyfake hanno all'attivo un Ep, un bootleg di nove brani registrati dal vivo nella stagione 2002-2003 ed un album in autoproduzione. La band ha maturato la sua esperienza live in luoghi come il Villaggio globale, Alpheus, Brancaleone ed altri spazi importanti della capitale. Nel 2003 sono ospiti a Radio Onda Rossa con il brano Love Waits, nel 2006 e' il brano Goldkingwoman a passare su Radio Citta' Aperta e Radio Rock.
