| In 2006, Tripp Algiers was formed. Any other rumours are unfounded and will be denied. The Kansas City arternative rock band respect their influential elders, but follow their own experiences. The result is a sound completely their own. The band has been given a variety of comparisons: "If Thom Yorke (of Radiohead) were f*$ed by John Lennon, and a love child was made..." - anonymous writer (Springfield, MO) "...a Ted Nugent meets Red Hot Chili Peppers freakout rocker." - Pete Dulin ( Present Magazine ) "...a more lo-fi and less jammy version of Umphrey's McGee..." "...a chorus comparable to early At the Drive-In..." "...an outtake from a Lou Barlow session..." - Sean Malone ( Red Rocket Magazine ) "I tried coming up with a list of comparisons, but trashed it after coming up with more than 30 bands and singers." - Jordan Kerfeld ( UNews ) "You guys are hippy acid rock." - an unsuspecting listener in Arkansas "...conjuring flashbacks to Pavement's nonchalant harmonies and Stone Temple Pilots' "Big Empty" guitars." - Andrew Miller ( The Pitch ) ". . . I like it because it sounds alt-y but kinda like Styx as well." - Tony ( tonyskansascity ) Ben is known for his spastic behaviour, Willis is known by all those math wizards, Matthew is known for keeping his cool, and Drew does what he wants. Together, these four gentlemen created an album called Old City Crows (2007) which has already received some critical acclaim. In 2008, they are releasing a single each month with limited edition, seasonal EPs. The final result will be a yearbook release holding all their work created during the year.
