| NOVO ÁLBUM ONE LOVE FAMILY 'ALLELUJAH'
À VENDA DIA 27 DE AGOSTOOs ONE LOVE FAMILY são uma banda original de musica reggae nascida em 1998 e formada por elementos com idade compreendida entre os 7 e os 47 anos, tendo a particularidade de serem uma familia.
Em 1978 em Lisboa, Jahlu (guitarrista e vocalista dos ..ONE LOVE FAMILY.. formou a banda ..Africa Reggae..,
banda essa que terminou passados dois anos.
Em 1986,depois de participar esporadicamente em alguns eventos de reggae que iam acontecendo aqui e ali por Lisboa, foi viver para a Lousã, concelho de Coimbra. Em 1987, foi para a Holanda (Amesterdão), onde foi convidado para participar no projecto ..Street Reggae.., (uma banda formada por musicos das ex-colonias holandesas do Suriname).
Em 1995, regressou definitivamente a Portugal (Coimbra), juntou um grupo de estudantes Universitarios e formou a banda ..Jahlu... Pelo meio foi convidado varias vezes para participar ao vivo em concertos dos ..Kussondulola...
Em 1998, nasceram finamente os ..ONE LOVE FAMILY...
A formacão original dos One Love Family, era composta por 4 musicos; Jahlu (Guitarrista e Vocalista), Sista Benjy (Baixo e coros), Zoe (11 anos) (Teclado e coros) e Mano (9 anos) (Bateria e coros).
No inicio de 1999 juntou-se a banda Marley (7 anos) para tocar percussão.
Em meados de Maio os ONE LOVE FAMILY, participaram num concurso de bandas, tendo alcancado o 1º lugar, cujo premio era uma participacão no Palco dos novos valores na Festa do Avante.
Uns meses depois Jahlu convidou Pedro (guitarra solo) (que ja tinha participado no projecto ..Jahlu.., a juntar-se a familia e no final do ano (Outubro), entrou a Sista Rita para os coros (actualmente alem da voz, toca sintetizador e melodica).Em Dezembro do mesmo ano entrou Kaya (4 anos), que participava ..cantando.. numa musica (Poluicão).
Em 2000 foram convidados para tocar na Festa do Avante.
Nesse mesmo ano entraram pela 1ª vez em estudio para gravar uma demo com seis musicas.
Em 2002, por questoes profissionais e de tempo, Pedro abandona o projecto. Sista Kaya junta-se ao Marley nas percussoes, e ambos comecam a participar nos coros.
Em 2003 Bro Pine (guitarra solo) e convidado a juntar-se aos ..ONE LOVE FAMILY..
Em 2005 e a vez de entrar o Broda Rafa (6 anos) para a percussão e ..voz... A sua 1ª participa..ão ao vivo foi no festival do Sudoeste. O Marley inicia-se no baixo, tendo no mesmo festival tocado uma musica, (Reggae Music). Em 2006 a Sista Benjy (que entretanto passou o baixo para o Broda Marley), passa a participar nos coros. O Broda Marley passa a ser o baixista da banda. A Kaya para não ficar ..atras.. iniciou-se tambem nas teclas, tocando ja o tema ..Zion... Entretanto, por questoes de tempo, o Bro Pine ..abandona.. o projecto, tendo por coincidencia ou não (so JAH sabe), o Pedro (guitarra solo) regressado. No Verão de 2006 a Sista Benjy ..abandona.. o projecto musical.
A 1ª apresentacão ao vivo dos ..ONE LOVE FAMILY.. (na altura quatro musicos), foi em 1998 no ..Christmas Reggae.., juntamente com os ..Kussondulola...
Durante todos estes anos os ..ONE LOVE FAMILY.., foram convidados algumas vezes a gravar um disco, mas por razoes que so JAH sabe, nunca aconteceu, mas como dizem os profetas nada acontece antes do tempo, portanto, pressupoe-se que ainda não era o tempo.
Em Dezembro de 2007 os ..ONE LOVE FAMILY.., entraram finalmente em estudio para gravar o seu 1º disco de originais.
A gravacão repartiu-se entre o estudio da etiqueta Toolateman (Blasted Mechanism) e a Jamaica, nos estudios harry J , tendo a producão ficado a cargo do lendario guitarrista de Bob Marley, Chinna Smith .JAH BLESS!
ONE LOVE!One Love Family are a Reggae Music band formed in 1998 by the members of a family, whose ages span from 7 to 47. In 1978, in Lisbon, Jahlu (rhythm guitar & vocals on OLF), started the band Africa Reggae, which ended after 2 years.In 1986, after being involved in various reggae events in the Lisbon area, he moved to Lousã, Coimbra. In 1987 he went to Amsterdam, where he was invited to join Street Reggae, a band formed by musicians from Suriname. In 1995 he returned to Portugal and formed the band Jahlu. In the meantime he was often invited to play live with Kussondulola. In 1998, One Love Family were finally born. The original line-up was: Jahlu(Guitars & Vocals), Sista Benji(Bass & Backing Vocals), Zoe (11 years old, Keyboards & Backing Vocals) and Mano(9 years old, Drums & Backing Vocals). In the beginning of 1999, Marley, who was 7, joined the band to play percussion. In May that year, One Love Family won a band contest, wher the prize was a performance in Festa do Avante. After a few months, Jahlu invited Broda Pedro(Lead Guitar), who had already played in the Jahlu project. In the end of that year, Sista Rita joined the band to do backing vocals, but is now also on keyboards and melodica. In December of the same year, Sista Kaia, who was 4 at the time, joined the band to sing on one of the songs(Poluicão). In 2000 they are invited to play in Festa do Avante. In that same year, the band goes into studio for the first time and records a 6 track demo. In 2002, for professional and personal reasons, Brother Pedro leaves the band. Sista Kaya joins Marley on percussion and both start singin backing vocals. In 2003, Broda Pine(Lead Guitar) is invited to join One Love Family. In 2005, is is time for Broda Rafa to join, on percussion and vocals. His first live performance was in the Festival Sudoeste. Marley starts playing bass and plays one song, 'Reggae Music', on bass in the same festival. After Broda Marley took on the bass, Sista Benji moved to backing vocals. Broda Marley was now the band's bass player. Kaya didn't want to be left behind and started playing keyboards in the song 'Zion'. In the meantime, Broda Pine leaves the band and Broda Pedro, the original lead guitarist, gets back in the band. Coincidence? Jah only knows...
In the summer of 2006, Sista Benji leaves the musical project. The first live performance by One Love Family happened in 1998, in Christmas Reggae, with Kussondulola. During these years, One Love Family were invited to record several times, but for some reason that only Jah knows, it never actually happened. But as they say, nothing happens before its time, so it probably wasn´t the right time. In 2007, One Love Family have finally entered the studio to record their first album. The recording took place in the Toolateman (Blasted Mechanism) studios and Jamaica's Harry J studios, with the production of the legendary guitarist, Chinna Smith . JAH BLESS!
