Beers Metal is who we are and what we do. We are a three-piece metal band from upstate New York that is all about having fun, kicking back and enjoying life. We have no political message or anything like that. It's just three dudes who grew up (the term grew up is used loosely) together playing loud and drinking hard all for the hell of it. We all have jobs and work for a living and enjoy a few beers after work just like the next guy. Beers Metal was born in 2002 when Dan and Steve wrote and recorded the song "Al Is A Drunk Old Fart" for our good friend Al's surprise 40th birthday party. Realizing that we had gathered tons of drinking material to sing about over the years we took a few of our old songs, wrote a few new ones and put drinking lyrics to all of them. Out came our first CD entitled "Home Brew".
We played a couple of gigs and had some fun with it so in April of 2006 we wrote and recorded our second CD entitled "Not Ginsmetal".
That title came about because we drank a bottle of gin before then hit the record button (We do all of our recording ourselves). Shortly after that we posted some of the songs on Myspace and much to our surprise people took notice and liked it. Several radio stations on the east coast of the United States and on the internet started playing the song “Beer Goggles” on the air. Again, we were surprised by the response. So we played a few more gigs and had more fun with it. At one bar in particular we astonished the bartender who said the three of us out drank any five-member band and their crews that had previously played there. All in a nights work! After that “tour” (7-8 gigs is a tour for us since we have to work if we want to eat and more importantly drink) we quickly threw together another four song CD called “Game On”, which consisted of
three new songs and a remake of our song “Who Cares” that was previously recorded on our CD “Home Brew”. The songs were on Myspace for a month or so and we did one more gig (damn jobs!). Still surprised and inspired by the response on the internet, we decided to pick our favorite songs from our previous recordings and wrote three new ones to make a good quality full length CD entitled “Why is everyone so damn serious?!”, which we just released this past May. We plan to make “Why is everyone so damn serious?!” available on iTunes and other online music outlets soon. That is as far as we will go as far as a “major” release. We aren’t like a regular band that will do anything to get a record deal and become big rock stars. No matter how big it gets or small it stays we will continue to do our own thing. We are and will remain regular people who like nothing better than to belly up to the bar after work and b.s. happy hour away over a few cold ones. We’d be just as happy playing a backyard barbeque as we would playing a football stadium. Actually a backyard barbeque would be better since the beer would be in a cooler next to us and we wouldn’t have to walk so damn far to find a pisser. That being said, enjoy our music and please tell anyone you think would like Beers Metal to check us out.

Drinking stories

Got any good drinking stories? We want to hear them. Put them here for the world to see. Maybe we'll be inspired enough by your story to write a song about it.
