| A year ago, Herman Stephens, while working to get some material recorded in a West London recording studio, met Oxford –educated Georgie Lowe. She was a singer recording with another band, and was in need of a bass player, and so Herman offered to help them out. However, as time marched on, Herman shared his writing with Georgie and Nathan and it was the sincerity and strength of this material that sparked the birth of The SeLF. The two, along with guitarist Nathan Collins and drummer Jon Finnegan have developed this spark of creativity over the past year into an eclectic collection of compelling tunes, the sound at turns pulsing electronic beats and soaring melodies.Citing Lenny Kravitz and David Bowie as great favorites, the SeLF also draw influences from 80’s synth-pop to current bands the Doves and Snow Patrol. A new band, they have already enticed the likes of Steve Jones (the Sex Pistols) with their music.The band is currently finishing recording their new album. The single ‘Somebody Nobody’ releases May 25th........... 'The big sounding, epic Somebody Nobody.That's the sound of west london's TheSeLF' 'They could easily share the stage with the likes of Doves and Snow Patrol, etching classic Brit indie vocals on a bed of guitar riffs that will never let you sleep.'
