About Me |
|
| In the nineteenth century, during the battle of Sevastopol, a Zouave (a soldier in a French infantry unit) had his clay pipe broken by a bullet. He got the brilliant idea of rolling tobacco in a piece of paper torn from his bag of gunpowder. By so doing, he invented the world's first cigarette. In 1894 Maurice and Jacques Braunstein invented the process of interleaving papers and called their papers Zig-Zag®, the term used to describe the interleaving process. In 1900, Zig-Zag was awarded a gold medal at the Universal Exposition in Paris. Its quality and concept are the keys of this success (see picture below). For 100 years, as a tribute to that soldier, the image of the Zouave dressed in his bright uniform has been used on all Zig-Zag's premium products.Just as that soldier invented the cigarette as an alternative to his broken pipe, more and more people today are seeking an alternative to high-priced factory-made cigarettes. Many of them are discovering, to their great pleasure, the enormous advantages of using Zig-Zag's fine products to make their own better cigarettes. In addition to saving a great deal of money, when you make your own cigarettes you have the ability to make the kind of cigarette you like best - filtered or non-filtered, king size or regular, full flavor or light, menthol full flavor or menthol light. And it's a lot easier to make your own cigarettes now than it was in the Zouave's day. With Zig-Zag's patented, state-of-the-art, cigarette making machine and a little practice, you can quickly and easily make your own filtered cigarettes or roll your own non-filtered cigarettes that look and smoke like those that are manufactured commercially - but cost a lot less. | |

I'd like to meet:For more than 100 years, Zig-Zag® imported French cigarette papers have been popular throughout the world. These papers are 100 percent natural, are strong, and have a neutral taste. Since 1894 our French cigarette papers have been made from only the finest ingredients; flax, which is a plant derivative, remains the most natural and environmentally friendly luxury fiber and mountain water from the Alps. A thin line of natural gum arabic ensures perfect glueing and the delicate process of watermarking gives the papers their famous transparency and thinness, the proof of quality. These seven outstanding cigarette papers all come in booklets of 32 leaves. |
