| Dandy is a new CLUB Night dedicated to the Dandy in it's many guises - Heavy on the Foppery with extra Large helpings of Macaroni.Brought to you by Kitty Diggins Presents in Hollywood California .We took our baby steps at Safari Sam's , and in the not too distant future will return , but at an unknown location, and perhaps will be a "special occasion " as opposed to a monthly event .We have been terribly lucky to have garnered in this short time , a very dedicated following of wonderfully spirited , artistic , stylish and glamourous individuals who recognise the need to spend time on one's outer appearance and refined manners , which enables them to galavant with others which ultimately allows themselves to be freed of social constructs ; as contradictory as the notion may seem.It is about taking the time to find one's inner beauty through the visual expression of the outer ,thus involving oneself in the environment that one is drawn to.If one meanders listlessly in pajamas or slovenly work out attire , what more can be expected at the day's end , but casual , listless bemusement?If time is spent taking pride and vision in one's put to getherness ; it can be surmised that the anticipated event to ensue will be that much more involved and fulfilling.Our guests are not expected to possess great wealth
( although we are always on the look out for generous patrons ) or copious fountains of couture bursting from ones closet , it has more to do with careful selection and creativity and the desire to indulge and participate passionately and gracefully.Dandy is an asthetic escapade which seeks to inject some Joy de Vivre and Veuve Clouquet back into the tired old world we have come to be.Expect a carefully selected mixture of ingredients enveloping vast expanses of culture and fun which embody the late 1800', 1900's the 20's ,60's and Glam Rock era's.This is Baroque au GoGo !Divine Decadence at it's finest with a severe pointy tongue planted in the cheek !

Music:The 1960's and the 1920's were more or less a parallel universe. Both decades embraced cultural rebellion, new trends in fashion, music and ways of thinking.The late 1960's embraced the decedance and romanticism of earlier periods such as Edwardian ,Victorian and the 20's well as the modernism that came along to counter act.Dandy loves all these elements of sensibility and attempts to entice it's guests into the best ( and maybe some of the worst) of those eras.Here you will find a conglamoration of Bubblegum Alley,Tin Pan Pop,Psychedelic Tango ,Far Out Fugues ,Swampy Blues,Piano Rolls,Romantic Psychedelia swathed in paisley and purple ,Hot Jazz you can GoGo to , 60's Pop you can Black Bottom to .The possibilities are endless.... |

Movies:There are many cinematic pieces to be enjoyed ,most based on classic novels and literature too numerous and obvious to expound upon , however , it can be stated that originality in the cinema is preferred and so therefore it is easy enough to say that there is very little contemporary cinema that is worth being discussed..Of course we enjoy our leisure , of which we dedicate much time.Titles will appear in time , but the wallpaper needs tending . |
