Elizabeth Cary is a freelance violinist,vocalist, and private instructor from upstate NY. Violin has been her raison d'etre since she began her studies at the age of 9. She recieved a Bachelors Degree of Music in Violin Performance from Ithaca College in 2006. Elizabeth has performed with the Cayuga Chamber Orchestra, the Southern Finger Lakes Orchestra, the Albert Consort, and the Rochester Women's Philharmonic. Though she is a classically trained violinist she is an extremely versatile musician, playing Bluegrass, Rock, Folk, and Irish music. She is a member of Igor's Egg, and enjoys the sound of not making pancakes. In the summer of 2007 she joined Renaissance Faire rock stars, The Empty Hats as their "northern fiddler". Elizabeth also plays under the name "Gypsy Rose" in Blackmore's Night, a Renaissance inspired rock band lead by Ritchie Blackmore and Candice Night. She began performing with them in October, 2007.
