| From the beginning there was a sense of misdirection and no real purpose behind the musical idea. But there was one thing that I always knew and that was I loved music. My passion for it just grew through the years and when I eventually learned a few things on the guitar it just took off from there.Johnny Cash, my main inspiration and musical guide, really brought me down to the elements of lower emotions. Lower emotions meaning "regret". Regret is something that we are all very familiar with because if your anything like myself, you have regrets about things you done, said, and thought. Tortured by our past, we never truly learn to forgive ourselves. It's only human that we born in that sense."BlackKiss" means the good and the bad, the light and the dark. A kiss can be a good thing and bad thing. The color black has always been associated with evil, or anything that is in the negative standpoint. Although, black goes with everything. The good and the bad, that's what this music is about. I, Pete, know that no matter where I go, these feelings of regret, sadness, and loneliness will always be with me, so I embrace them. They are a part of me not apart from me. This is not only my band, is any body's band. It's not just my music, its also your music. |
