ATLAS, in Greek Mythology, was one of the Titans. He personified the quality of endurance. In one tradition, Atlas led the Titans in a rebellion against Zeus and was condemned to bear the heavens upon his shoulders. In another, he was said to have been appointed guardian of the pillars which held earth and sky asunder. He was also the god who instructed mankind in the art of astronomy, a tool which was used by sailors in navigation and farmers in measuring the seasons. These roles were often combined and Atlas became the god who turned the heaven on their axis, causing the stars to revolve.CRIPPLED ATLAS came to realization in 1999, by one person, Andrew. Over the course of the following nine years, Andrew has searched for compatible musicians to take Crippled Atlas to a different level. The countless bodies who have considered themselves able and ready have fallen by the wayside. Alas, Andrew will carry this burden alone.......Crippled Atlas will never be called true or cult black metal, as there are outside elements and genres contributing to the overall sound. There is no shame in admitting the love for music outside of the chaotic!Crippled Atlas is here for networking, meeting fellow musicians and people interested in extreme music. Crippled Atlas is not here looking for a date, hook-up, cyber-anything, etc.
