| Did some time on classical violin and classical piano before buying a mandolin and having the world turned upside down when I was 17. Served what I would describe as the best possible musical apprenticeship with my good friend Peter Daffy. Just had a ball making music with him and still do. Isfahan, Senan's Haggart, the Funky String Band and I decided that perhaps a teacher of Ancient Greek and roman literature was not what I REALLY wanted to do. Then fate swooped down and joined me with the Shoogles and here I am. Touring the world making music for people to dance madly to. It's a hard life... | |

Could never get enough of playing Bach keyboard music. Obsessive flirtations with Andy Irvine counterpoint in the late teens, Dylan... Dylan - too much.Life took a serious turn with Tarkovsky.
