That my, Myspace friends would surely have been a crime.I myself discovered Aaron Watson here on Myspace, thus I searched out his cds online, (back when I had a credit card), purchasing three of his past cds, 'San Angelo', 'Shut Up & Dance' and 'The Honky Tonk Kid'.'Angels & Outlaws' is his 8th release, on his own Big Label Records. Its a collections of 15, as his bio says, 'pure country songs'. Vocally Aaron reminds me a tad of Gary Allan, not a bad thing in my eyes or to my ears. stand out tracks, and it hard to pick from are, opening hard driving 'Tulsa'. Fiddle laden 'Wake Up & Smell The Coffee' , & 'Breaker Breaker One Nine' , which had me harkening back to the Smokey & The Bandit films. Come on, you know you love them too! The opening guitar intro to 'The Heart Of Life', actually reminded me of The Red Hot Chilli Peppers!! I like the way the song changes tempo at the chorus. Close out track, 'Thats What I Like About A Country Song', is a rousing number with guest appearances by Jack Ingram, Kevin Fowler, Roger Creager and Ray Benson, who by the way helped produce the album. If your a fan of traditional country music, (i myself like the pop country as well), then Aaron Watson is the guy for you. Can't recommend this album enough.
