| Please CLICK HERE to go to the Ameranouche!!! website Our music is in National Lampoons New Release!!! Click here to go to Beach Party At The Threshold Of Hell The Ameranouche Trio features guitarists Richard Sheppard, Ryan Flaherty, and upright bassist Xar Adelberg. This nationally acclaimed Gypsy Jazz ensemble plays acoustic music including both original compositions and unique arrangements by American and Gypsy songwriters. The music is universal and reaches diverse audiences worldwide. Richard Sheppard plays lead guitar for Ameranouche: "His fingers dart across the strings faster than hummingbirds' wings," proclaims Jon Nolan of The Wire, a Seacoast Entertainment Magazine. "Sheppard is an aggressor on the guitar, really taking it to its limits. Many of the tunes showcase his ability to make that guitar talk. He forcibly makes the strings resonate, and then he dances across the entirety of the fret board in order to get Ameranouche's gypsy jazz sound," writes Christopher Hislop of the Portsmouth Herald. Ameranouche performances are patterned with virtuosity, eclecticity and inspiring energy. Audiences are taken aback by Sheppard's brillant guitar work and the groups ceaseless musicianship. "The most important element of this music is the happiness, joy, and feeling of connectivity" - Lowell Sun; MA CLICK HERE to view Ameranouche!!!'s Electronic Press Kit Join the mailing list Ameranouche Email Address: |

Music:Member Since: 6/2/2006Band Website: ameranouche.com Band Members: Instrumentation: Richard (Shepp) Sheppard: Solo Guitar Ryan Flaherty: Rhythm Guitar Xar Adelberg: Upright Bass Richard (Shepp) Sheppard: Solo Guitar/Vocals. Shepp comes from southern New Jersey. He attended the Berklee School of Music, studied guitar and composition with Pat Martino in Philadelphia, and studied guitar with Attilla Zoller in Southern Vermont. He has taught guitar, composition, and music theory as a faculty member of Bennington College (Bennington, Vermont) and Pittsfield Community Music School (Pittsfield, Massachusetts). He has performed and done shows with many different artists. Among these are John Jorgenson, Ritary Ensemble, Rick Danko, Taj Mahal, Hot Tuna, and Vassar Clements, to name just a few. His passion for Gypsy music and love for the guitar in general are what drew him to form Ameranouche!!! He has written hundreds of compositions and is currently dedicating his compositional output to the gypsy jazz idiom. Ryan Flaherty: Rhythm Guitar/Vocals. Ryan comes from Rock Island, IL. A seasoned performer, both songwriter and vocalist. He causes people to tap thier foot. Here's what Bob McKillop, the editor of MaineFolkMusic.com, had to say about Ryan: "Ryan Flaherty is a great example of a "supporting performer". In this sense, I don’t mean to suggest that his contribution is secondary to Sheppard’s; Sheppard creates his amazing lead parts by riffing off of the expertly maintained rhythms and changes in tempo that Flaherty lays down like a machine. But Flaherty is a machine with a soul that is filled with romance and high spirits. I watched his supple wrist drive his right hand into a blur, as he strummed the complex backing guitar part, and changed tempo mid-bar, and he did it as easily as if he were merely breathing. Xar Adelberg: Upright Bass/Vocals. Hailing from Maine, Xar joined Ameranouche!!! in January of 2007. She has studied bass with Scott Lee and John Hebert and participated in masterclasses with the likes of Reid Anderson and Frank Carlberg. She is always ready to diversify her listening; one of her favorite ways to do this is by reading Do The Math, the blog of Ethan Iverson. Xar has performed in the US and Europe. div style="text-align:center;width:425px;" Influences: Django Reinhardt, Tchan Tchou Vidal, Pat Martino, Miles Davis, Jimmy Rainy, Tal Farlow, John McLaughlin, Chick Corea, Billy Holiday, Herman Hesse, Paco De Lucia, Edith Piaff, Tony Gatlif, Scott Lee, JS Bach Sounds Like: Hot Gypsy Jazz, Swing, Jazz, Sinti, bop, acoustic, french guitar, 1940's France, Latin rhythms, ballets, flamenco, bossa, bolero, samba Record Label: Red Squirrel Records Type of Label: Indie |
