L'ensemble s'est forme a Rennes en 1981. D'emblee COMPLOT affirmait sa singularite : travailler la relation des sons et de l'image, retrouver la tradition bruitiste et les racines futuristes des musiques actuelles, imaginer et mettre en scene des spectacles pour transformer le concert en performance, la scene en plateau de theâtre, la musique en acte. En vingt ans d'experience, COMPLOT a realiser 6 albums et participer a de nombreuses compilations (Divine, Rrose selavy, transmusicales, On a Faim, Machina, Echolocation, Transmission etc...) et s'est affirmé comme l'un des groupes les plus singuliers de la scene rennaise. COMPLOT a mis ses théories a l'epreuve. 3 spectacles en portent temoignage : - ICARE en 1981 spectacle monte dans un espace industriel abandonne - MAIAKOVSKY, drame musical ecrit et mis en scene en 1983 en hommage au poete russe, .. partir de ses textes et de son iconographie revolutionnaire sovietique. - RADIX en 1991 avec la Fabrick dUtopies Fantaisistes qui fut cree et presente a Leningrad (URSS) avant d'etre joue a la Grande Halle de la Villette a Paris (mai 91). 2h15 d’images, .. mi-chemin entre le cirque, le music-hall, la performance, le theâtre d’images, le concert de rock et le cinema... Depuis COMPLOT s'est pr..sent.. en concert dans le cadre des "transmusicales" (1995) soir..e Rrose selavy. Brouillant les cartes sous diverses identites de Mars Drive en passant par Swinny et Nikola.. Ada , Adamix dans Arkan... COMPLOT poursuit son voyage et participe aujourd'hui a la creation des musiques d'une adaptation de la piece d'Eugne O'Neil "Le Marchand de Glace" (Iceman Cometh) avec la Cie Jean Beauce de Rennes... Ever since it formed 1981, it has demonstrated its originality by developing the relationship between songs and images, emphasizing the presence of sound effects and Futurist roots in modern music, and creating shows that transform a concert into a performance, a rock'n'roll platform into a theatre stage, music into action.
