About Me |
|
I wish I could keep my room clean, but a creative mind is not an organized one. I like to be around people who are fun, intelligent, and have more going on in their lives than just bar hopping. I try to set aside a little time everyday to dance. What type of dancing depends on my mood. Somedays I feel like doing a little skanking, other days I get my electro-groove on. I don't regret. I learn I'm shy. I'm painfully shy. Completely and totally shy. Don't touch my crossword puzzle. Don't even try to give me a clue. I will despise you for it. Most people don't get my attraction to James Spader. I tell them to watch 2 Days in the Valley and Secretary. I am having a mad love affair with eye shadow, a crush on eyeliner and mascara, lately I've been seen frequently flirting with blush, and while lipstick and I have never been close- we've recently become better friends. I enjoy the sun and I enjoy smoking. We're all gonna die someday, so I'm gonna continue doing the things I enjoy. Disney sucks up a lot of my money because I collect Disney snowglobes, pins, and Jessica Rabbit merchandise. I am the worlds worst bowler (I'm improving!! I finally got a turkey!) I take many pictures of myself for no good reason potatoes make me happy this is my little PJ. She screams at me all day long and likes for me to watch her eat. She's very cute, but very dumb. Yes. I called my cat dumb. It's not mean, it's honest. |

Music:"When it comes to Jeff Buckley, you either love his music or you've never heard it. There's no in between. This is his masterpiece. Each phrase builds on the last and it all pays off in the end." -John Mayer on "Lover, You Should Have Come Over.I listen to good music, regardless of genre. To hate music based only on it's label is to deny yourself great experiences. I'm the first to admit that I can be a bit pretentious when it comes to music... If I get too high and mighty, just knock me off of my horse by reminding me that I paid a lot of money to see *Nsync in concert (and then bought the DVD of that concert) So what would I call "good" music??? Jeff Buckley is my all-time favorite as most of you know. Seriously- listen to his album "Grace." It changed my life. Or- come see me and I will make you a personalized CD of my *favorite* Jeff Buckley songs (I promise- it will move you). As far as other lyrical solo artists, I also greatly enjoy Damien Rice, Fiona Apple, Elliott Smith, and Badly Drawn Boy (yes, it's a he and not a group). I listen to a lot of "underground" hiphop such as Little Brother, K-OS, Handsome Boy Modeling School, Gangstarr, Talib Kwali, and RJD2. About the most mainstream I get when it comes to hiphop is Common and Mos Def. I actually have to give props to my brother for turning me onto a lot of really good hiphop music... he's kinda been my source. I used to be a little punk rock chick, so I still enjoy putting in some Less Than Jake, Pennywise, Bouncing Souls, Descendents, Dance Hall Crashers, Flogging Molly, and Bad Religion from time to time. In high school, one of my nicknames was "80's Girl" because I listened to a ton of 80's new wave. I kinda grew out of it, but I still love to listen to Depeche Mode, Madness, Talking Heads, and Elvis Costello. I also have a great appreciation for those not of my generation. When I'm in the mood, nothing beats a Dean Martin or Frank Sinatra song. Bobby Darrin is also a favorite. I don't want to leave out the 1970s stuff like David Bowie- who is one of my personal gods, or Heart. I never really got into the Beatles, sorry... I guess I'm not that cool. I was one of those kids who was raised on the Beach Boys. I don't listen to much country AT ALL, but I do know all the words to "Boot Scootin' Boogie" by Brooks and Dunn, and I always love a little Johnny Cash or Hank III. I don't know many electronic artists, but I love electronic music and mixes. I'm a loyal listener of Big Sonic Chill on 94.9 and I love Trip Hop. Portishead and Zero 7 are awesome. I'm really open minded about music, although if an artist has too much hype surrounding them- I'm totally turned off. eventually I might come around but it will take me a while. I could go on and on, but this is just a sample inside my musical mind So, what is the rabbit listening to right now? Toy Dolls- Nellie the Elephant The Kooks- Naive Mickey Avalon- So Rioh, So Pretty (always) Fiona Apple- Tymps (Sick in the Head) The Bloc Party- The Prayer Interpol- Slow Hands David Bowie- Golden Years The Streets- Fit but You Know It Badly Drawn Boy- The Further I Slide The Arcade Fire- Keep the Car Running |

Books:.. I love to read. Kurt Vonnegut is AWESOME. I also enjoy reading Bukowski, Chuck Klosterman, Chaucer, Poe, Mario Puzo, Hunter S. Thompson, John Irving, and many others. Currently, I am juggling quite a few books: I'm just about finished with Rejuvenile by Chris Noxon, as well as IV by Chuck Klosterman. I'm halfway through both Timequake and Hocus Pocus by Kurt Vonnegut, and I'm itching to crack open Only Revolutions by Mark Danielewski. I'm not quite sure how I got in the middle of so many books, but it's alright.... keeps things interesting. I've got about 10 books on my shelf right now that I still have to read, yet if I walked into Borders or Barnes and Noble right now I could justify spending $200 in books. |

Heroes:kurt vonnegut. he's got such amazing wit. |
