| Washington,DC native, Ricky Fante has been singing for many years; starting with the church, Union Temple Baptist Church; in Washington, DC. After high school he joined the Marines than college, just short of graduating things started happening for Rick, so he put school to the side and focused on music 100% of the time. This led to great things for Ricky, his Huntington Beach surf buddy Scott Rickett and he formed the Soul Surfers in 98 and recorded "Soul Surfing" that led to Rickys first major deal at Virgin Records;"Rewind" was the debut. The album recieved major critical acclaim, and Ricky was soon called the "new voice of soul" by many critics. After several tv appearences and even portraying Wilson Pickett on "American Dreams", and writing the lead song (Shine) to the animated feature "Robots" in 05, Rick was ready to take some time off.Currently, Ricky has been in the studio with Italian born- Austrailian producer Vince Pizzinga(EMI)and his original surf friend, Scott Rickett; Buzzz is that, they haved tapped into an international feel and appeal that will continue to reveal Rickys soulful voice;Ricky will be delivering "Soul For The World............ | |
