Born and raised in San Salvador, El Salvador, Ofo Nuñez started his musical career at age 14, when he began playing drums for a small band formed with friends from school. After graduating and having played drums for 3 years, he became interested in the electric bass guitar and joined a local alternative rock band. Two years and many gigs later, he decided to pursue different objectives, more in sync with the electronic dance music world. After a while in mixing his goal to become a much better dj and influence to the electronic music scene in his native country started to grow more and more. Travelling around the Central American Region and playing in the most recognized festivals in the Central American region such as Rave del Castillo in Guatemala, and SUNJAM festival held in Honduras every year and has shared the turntables with djs such as James Holden, Luke Fair, Donald Glaude, Dj Dan, Max Graham, Austin Leeds, Martin Accorssi, Karlos Elizondo, Tiesto, ATB, Marco V, Saeed Younan, and many more. Participating in such events has allowed him to make a name around the region. Developing his unique sound into a more minimal electroish type of genre he has developed the minimal/electro scene in El Salvador to its full extent and growing more and more as time passes by. Involving ableton live software on his dj sets with a synthiseizer Ofo is able to rapidly add his own unique signature to his sets making them more personalized to the crowd thats hearing it. Ofo Nunez developed a new concept with Piero Cristiani, a local expromoter of the Salvadorian Electronic Music Scene, that would embrace the concept of underground music exposure from the worlds best underground producers/djs. The parties are called Play:Ground and the concept is to contribute and expose the newer sounds of electronic music that are rising through in present time by bringing the best underground djs to be exposed to the Central American Region. The parties have been going strong with appearances such as Austin Leeds, Martin Accorssi, Phillip Charles, Karlos Elizondo and many more to come in the future. Ofo Nunez also partnered with FERK a local dj and music entrepeneur to develop the label Istmo Music (www.IstmoMusic.com) which would contain 3 sublabels Dub Tech Recordings: Productions handpicked by famous producer Santiago Nino, Itzamana Recordings: The housier side of the label, containing the minimal house, electro and progressive productions signed by Istmo Music and Ix Chel Recordings: The Drum n Bass section of Istmo Music. Slowly Istmo Music has grown through the region exponentially and acquiring great support from their listeners as well as Djs. Being offered a residency at a local clubs terrace every 1st and 3rd saturday will allow partygoers a constant dose of minimal/electro beats from this rising dj.
