| Kirk Woods founded The Woodland Entertainment Group, after several years of doing executive protection for acts such as Monica, TLC, Boys 2 Men, Madonna, Mick Jagger, and super producer Dallas Austin. Kirk was asked to run Dallas Austin's production company, D.A.R.P. Inc.
After a few years of running the production company, Kirk ventured out on his own, and started the Woodland Entertainment Group, where he discovered a young musical prodigy named Adonis Shropshire, also known as YOUNG A.D. Fondly referred to as the "Jerry McGuire" of the music business, Kirk took his one client to the musical powerhouse of Bad Boy Entertainment, and acquired a publishing deal through Janice Combs/EMI music publishing. Adonis did not have any songs placed or released but Kirk convinced Bad Boy / EMI to fly him to New York to meet with Sean Combs a.k.a P.Diddy. In order to secure a spot on the prestigious Hitmen Squad, Adonis had to write a song on the spot for Diddy in 15 minutes. Adonis, not knowing what project he was writing for, put his pen to work. Diddy loved the song so much he put it on the Jennifer Lopez's J.LO album. Giving Adonis his first placement. 11 yrs and 125 song releases later, Adonis has become a Multi-Grammy Award winning Songwriter/Producer who has been involved or responsible for hits on some of your favorite artist such as J.LO, Usher, Mariah Carey, Beyonce, Avant, Twista, Ciara, Chris Brown and many many more....Now with 3 Grammys under his belt and 7 nominations for the 2004 smash hit "MY BOO", and for his participation on "The Emancipation Of MiMi" (the Twista and Mariah duet), Adonis is going after his fourth. He recently crafted songs for Nicole (of the Pussycat Dolls), Omarion (earning his second single), Marques Houston (earning his first single), Fergie (of the Black Eyes Peas), Mario, Cherish, and Sammie. He now has his sight set on Ciara (3rd LP), Mary J. Blige, Chris Brown (2nd LP), Fantasia, and JoJo. As one of the busiest writer/producers in the game, Adonis and B Cox recently placed over 30 songs in the 1st and second qtrs alone!!! We are definitely proud of his most recent accomplishment of setting a record four wins (songwriter and producer awards), over a period of two years for the single MY BOO at the heralded ASCAP AWARDS. Adonis is now asking the world to "READ THE CREDITS!!" and take notice of the names behind the faces of the hits you hear everyday. If you didn't know, now you do. Woodland Entertainment Group is currently working with a production crew that includes K Fam aka I AM LEGEND, Ish aka VOTRON, Earl and E aka The Wonder Twinz, Zack, and Corey Griffin aka CG.
