Myspace Backgrounds INTERLOPE 2007 NEW ALBUM : PETITS ARRANGEMENTS ENTRE AMIS Enfin ! Deux ans et demi qu’ils rongeaient leur frein à La Défense à étudier scrupuleusement le marché du breakbeat et ses modalités de pénétration par les remix et les compilations ! En 2007, le duo Interlope nous livre enfin le fruit de la fusion du groupe Rimshot et du consortium Dragongaz. Quelques repères pour nous faire une idée de leur parcours : L’un, toujours premier en mathématiques, diplômé d’H.E.C. et de Polytechnique puis de l’Ecole des Mines, dirige actuellement 24358 personnes dont 423 cadres… l’autre, après de brillantes études de droit international et L’E.N.A. , est entré en 1993 au cabinet de Notek Associate ; successivement conseillé municipal, vice président du conseil général, ministre délégué à la politique monétaire, il siège aujourd’hui au conseil d’administration de plus d’une vingtaine d’entreprises européennes… A respectivement 35 et 37 ans, ramasser un maximum de fric leur procure toujours autant de plaisir. Et voila qu’on les accuse de fricoter avec ‘‘ l’Underground ’’ ! Tout ça parce qu’ils tripotent quelques boutons et autres faders dans des soirées peu recommandables et qu’ils sont amis avec Reno G., membre fondateur de la multinationale Expressillon. Ils semblent de plus entretenir des relations douteuses avec SK alias Meyer Rothchild, le célèbre visionnaire américain, rencontré lors d’un séminaire sur le Amen Break… Ils se trouvaient sur la même liste d’invités et firent vite plus ample connaissance. Le soir, dans l’ambiance feutrée du bar de l’hôtel, après quelques Black Russians et moult bouffées de Mouton Cadet, SK les initia à la pratique des ‘Petits Arrangements entre Amis’, infaillible pour s’enrichir encore plus vite, quitte à s’affranchir des cadres légaux, voire en soudoyant ceux qui les fixent…. ‘‘Pour acheter un homme qui détient un pouvoir, il faut trois conditions : Un, s’assurer qu’il est achetable et y mettre le prix. Deux, lui assurer une discrétion absolue et totale. Trois, lui supprimer tout remord éventuel en lui suggérant très habilement qu’il agit dans l’intérêt de son pays.’’ Pendant que certains exposent leur nouvel ordre mondial, le duo persiste en publiant sans fioriture début Mai un recueil énergique de préceptes digitaux pour marchandages en tout genre. A suivre lors des conférences publiques qu’ils donneront à partir de mi-Avril dans toute la France… Shooting drum&bass into unexplored territories is one definition of Interlope, as the band is based upon live performances wich consist of improvisation using samplers, synths, mixing desk and FX... This is a live duo act, where each member is writting their own tracks and mixing them together their very own way to create the Interlope stream. Dancefloor music mixing electro hip-hop to breaks and drum&bass is another definition of Interlope. In ELECTRIFIED, their studio album 2004, Dragongaz & Rimshot, develop their multi electronic side aspect by delivering an album more oriented to electro hip hop and break beat featuring American MCs, SK, Jamalski and South African, Watkins Tudor Jones. This album marks a change from their live acts, which is more drum&bass dominant. A direction they already took on Talk to the Beat their first album (released in 2002), and peppered with featurings from the same SK, Jamalski and Black Sifichi. This line is now more strongly asserted, sharpened, and refined. The live performance can now offer a bigger range of exploration. With an amply recognised power, the duellists have accumulated a large number of gigs (about 300 gigs) since their association in 1999 , from the Vieilles Charrues festival 2003 (biggest open air festival in france), to teknivals, festivals, concerts halls, clubs and raves all over France, also in England, Germany, Spain, Swizerland and South Africa (project Siphon 2003). After releasing a maxi vynil featuring some live session in London party (nov05-Expressillon), the band just finished the remix project called HIGHT TONE Re-Processed, a compilation of remixes of the massive French dub band, including 5 tracks remix by Interlope and remixes from Le Peuple de lHerbe, Hybrid Sound System...and more (out June 2006 on label JARRING EFFECTS).
