Le groupe The Effervescing Paintbox, formé en 2005, réunit cinq amis de longue date partageant une passion commune pour la musique anglo-saxonne des 60s. Tirant leur nom de titres de chansons de Syd Barrett, dandy acidulé, ces garçons ont décidé de jouer la carte de la mélodie et de l'harmonie au service de la pop. Grâce à des compositions abouties et des concerts rafraichissants, ils se sont fait un nom sur la scène toulousaine. Leur musique se distingue par la diversité des morceaux, les ballades alternant avec des morceaux garage plus énergiques teintés de psychédélisme, le tout alliant sonorités 60s et modernes, reflet de leurs influences allant des Beatles à The Coral. From Toulouse, France, comes the 5-piece pop band The Effervescing Paintbox formed in 2005 by friends in love with the sounds of the 1960s. The name of the band is derived from two songs by the dearly departed pop genius Syd Barrett. This band is all about melody and harmonies, no guitar smashing here. The Effervescing Paintbox features various styles of music from sweet pop songs to energetic garage tunes but always with delicate songwriting and arrangements. A debut EP 'What Colour Is Sound' was released in 2006 and received great reviews, helping the band to play numerous gigs in southern France as well as opening for international bands such as The Charlatans (UK) and The Brunettes (NZ). With the release of new EP 'Any Colour You Like' the band is moving forward with great things to come. Watch out !
