| Tongue-N-Groove was originally formed by Ronnie, Heidi, Tim Beaire on lead vocals and Larry Pennepacker on bass. (Ronnie, Tim and Larry all played together in different bands over the years, including Rated X, LIX, and some other versions of these bands when they all went to California in the late '80's....Heidi at this time was playing with Corsair, her "almost" all female band, which Larry filled in on bass quite often...) We had a great run with this lineup until time came that Tim left the band. Instead of replacing a singer, we added a guitarist, Rob Payne, who in the day, played with Red Hot and Osiris. Ronnie and Heidi then took over the lead vocals, doing double duty......This worked out great and is also the lineup that did the recordings on our page. As of Memorial weekend, 2006, we had another change, as Larry left the band as well. We did a few gigs with a couple temporary guys filling in (who did a great job by the way!!) and out of the ashes of a project Ronnie and Rob were doing, we found a killer new bass player, Lenny Round, from Huron, Ohio.
In March 2007 we parted ways with Lenny due to his new job and the long distance between us. We wish Lenny all the best and look forward to seeing him at Belcher's for Jam Night or any other time he wants to hang out!!
Brady Knuckles from Iron Vengeance and formerly of Aesthesia, is now taking over the 4 (and 7, wink wink) string duties for us. We run the gamut of being classic rock oriented, into the heavier '80's and '90's stuff, and also being into new music, definitely leaning towards the heavier end of the musical spectrum. Sounds Like: I guess i'd say we sound like.....ROCK & ROLL.........mostly we've been doing covers and we're looking forward to doing more original stuff soon. Our originals, "Xtasy" and "Take Me Away", were both written by Ronnie during the '80's era of music and they do have that '80's vibe but I think we did well bringing them up to date..... Everything else we do we try to be as true to the originals as possible, yet adding our own twists here and there. Sometimes you just go with what you feel!!! If it works , it works!!
