| I've been playing and songwriting for many years man and boy and have decided at long last that I should try and get my songs out there - so here they are and I am starting to have some success. Fame Games have played two of my songs with more to come in future I hope. I have also enterd Way Home in the BBC songwriters' competition and am keepong my fingers crossed about that. I have my own little recording setup, which gets the job done nicely, though I am still working on getting a decent product and have had lots of invaluable advice from Art at Virtual Home Music and Paul at Fame Games. I live Oxford, work in Sheffield and do music in both as much as my job lets me. I also work with Janet Douglas - checkout our Checkout Girl site here - and we have written and recorded a few songs together some of which have got some radio play. | |

Music:Member Since: 6/21/2006Band Members: Pete Marriott. It's all just me! Influences: The usual unsure response to this. Everything from Wolf Biermann to Paul Weller via everything in between and much far beyond. Myself mainly though. Van Morrison of course and, Crosby Stills Nash and Young, Blood, Sweat and Tears, James Taylor and Carole King from my hippy period, Earth Wind and Fire from my Funk period (OK it was short and limited), Sting and the Police from my Sting and Police period, Elvis Costello, Clash, Stranglers from my punk period (which was pretty much at the same time as my Police period and my my funk period come to think of it), Gill Scott-Heron, Joe Jackson, Lloyd Cole and the Commotions, the Stones, Van Morrison etc.etc. Oh, bloody everything really. Suzanne Vega, Tracy Chapman, At the moment I am really into the Watanabes. Duncan Walsh of that band is a genius and they will go far! But this week's star band for me are The Decembrists. Their album Castaways and Cutouts is my favourite. Here I dreamt I was an Architect my favourte song on there. Beautiful. Sounds Like: Type of Label: None |
