About Me |
|
| The world is a fantastic and exhilerating place, I am grateful for every day and everydays. May we all work towards everyone having the best of all possible worlds.
No, Really. The naming of cats is a difficult matter, It isn't just one of your holiday games; You may think at first I'm mad as a hatter When I tell you a cat must have three different names.First of all, there's the name that the family use daily, Such as Victor, or Jonathan, George or Bill Bailey-- All of them sensible everyday names. There are fancier names if you think they sound sweeter, Some for the gentlemen, some for the dames; Such as Plato, Admetus, Electra, Demeter-- But all of them sensible everyday names. But I tell you, a cat needs a name that's particular, A name that is peculiar, and more dignified, Else how can he keep up his tail perpendicular, Or spread out his whiskers, or cherish his pride?Of names of this kind, I can give you a quorum, Such as Munkustrap, Quazo or Coripat, Such as Bombalurina, or else Jellyrum-- Names that never belong to more than one cat.But above and beyond there's still one name left over, And that is the name that you will never guess; The name that no human research can discover-- But The Cat Himself Knows, and will never confess. When you notice a cat in profound meditation, The reason, I tell you, is always the same: His mind is engaged in rapt contemplation Of the thought, of the thought, of the thought of his name: His ineffable effable Effanineffable Deep and inscrutable singular Name |

Music:As long as its good.I really haven't been listening to 'new' music in quite awhile. I followed what I think is more or less a anachronistically stereotypical arc in music tastes in my 'formative years' though seeing as how I suffer from excessive neuronal plasticity I may never have had any. Either way my first CD was NWA straight outta compton, years later I was headbanging to sepultura and the like, weed and whiplash. my first vinyl was emmanual top - turkish bazaar. If I go out, I go out to get my stomp on . |
|
Movies:this and that, I like popculture movies that have a message, no matter how poorly conceived or badly delivered it is. random things from the top of my head. starship troopers vanilla sky just friends shallow hal 40 year old virgin Bladerunner v for vendetta matrix one flew over the cuckoos nest what the bleep do we know? johnny got his gunthis weird little cartoon i saw on HBO 2 decades ago that made me cry, about some girl who sacrificed herself to save some animals and their love for her got her resurrected. PLEASE CONTACT ME IF YOU KNOW OF IT.Update OMG doerte thank you so much for giving me that movie, and everything, and sorry im such a fuckup.. you are wonderful. The movie was Miyazaki - NausicaƤ Of The Valley Of The Wind (Anime, Japanese, english sub).avi and fukagawa is the bomb |

Books:Well, I am a full time student and with a reading list that sadly leaves little time for extracurricular reading. I grew up on stephen king, william gibson, robert ludlum, isaac asimov, robert heinlein, greg bear, edgar allan poe, arthur c clarke. I expect that I read more books between 6-15 than I will for the rest of my life. these days the books around my bed all of the popular science vein notably exemplified by Gould, current toilet book is 'the collapse of Chaos' |

Heroes:Noam Chomsky, stephen jay gould, the guy that designed the Helios plane. Costeau, mandelbrot, you. |
