| Collectif historique de la scène slam française, SPOKE ORKESTRA est un ensemble remuant et polymorphe de poétri-combat, formé en 2002 autour d'une formule de pur a capella. Le collectif est rejoint en 2004 par un compositeur. Le noyau dur : 3 performeurs au micro : ABD EL HAQ, D' de KABAL, FELIX J. qui scandent chacun dans un style bien singulier une prose sans concession ; et leur diabolique homme-orchestre, metteur en sons : Franco MANNARA. Ils font de la poésie, ils ne font pas de la poésie... En tout cas, de leurs prestations hors normes, l'auditeur ne ressort pas indemne. Le SPOKE ORKESTRA percute cerveaux et sens avec ses textes, et redonne du poids et de la valeur aux mots. blablabla....Après " INTERDIT AUX MINEURS " ( Asphaltiq / BMG - 2004 ), Spoke Orkestra publie son second opus à paraître le 15 octobre 2007 : " SPOKE ORKESTRA n’existe pas " ( Basaata Productions / Musicast ) ; un recueil de tragédies urbaines. Il y est question de ne pas faire de la littérature avec de bons sentiments, a capella ou sur fond d’électro rock puisant… Avec la contribution de quelques francs tireurs amis en invités (Serge Teyssot-Gay, Greg SLAP, Gilles Coronado).Spoke Orkestra figure également sur la compilation " BOUCHAZOREILL' SLAM EXPERIENCE " ( Because Music - 14 MAI 2007 ). Spoke Orkestra tire son jus des personnalités qui composent le collectif et des multiples projets menés en parallèle par ses membres : - au théâtre (Cies RIPOSTE, LES ACHARNES, DU ZIEU DANS LES BLEUS) ; - dans la musique (D' et Franco Mannara sur le projet LA THEORIE DU K.O. - Chief Inspector 2007 ; Félix J. avec " DUM DUM " - Discograph 2006) ; - en littérature (Nada est publié aux Belles Lettres - " Néant " - 2005 ; Félix J. prépare pour la rentrée 2007 une anthologie du slam - " BLAH ! " - L'anthologie du slam 1997-2007 (Coédition SPOKE Editions / Florent MASSOT -On note aussi l'activisme des membres du collectif dans des actions telles que l'opération SLAM CARAVANE (ateliers d'écriture dans le 93).A celebrated artist collective on France’s slam scene, SPOKE ORKESTRA is known for its incomparable use of rhythm and combative/poetic lyrics. Founded in 2002 and originally singing exclusively a cappella, the group was joined by a composer in 2004.At its core: three performers at the mike, NADA, D' de KABAL, FELIX J., each singing in their very own style, a prose with no concession. Their fantastic soundman Franco MANNARA occasionally turns into a unique one-man-band. They are poetic and sometimes not… at any rate, their performances don’t follow any norms and audiences are never left unmoved. SPOKE ORKESTRA makes you think and feel through its lyrics. Words are given back the full meaning and weight they deserve.After " INTERDIT AUX MINEURS " ( Asphaltiq / BMG - 2004 ), Spoke Orkestra is about to release its second album on October 15, 2007 entitled " SPOKE ORKESTRA n’existe pas " ( Basaata Productions / Musicast ) – a collection of urban tragedies drawing their inspiration from Baudelaire, The Velvet Underground and David Lynch. In its latest installment, the band makes a point to embrace literature, always staying away from warm and fuzzy feelings, and sings a cappella or against a powerful electronic background.
