| This is a funny section to have words in, because the "me" shifts and changes in all kinds of ways at all kinds of times. But some things that have remained constant in my life are my passion for music and my life as a performing classical pianist; my love of quiet and of friends, and of words and language; and things that remind me of other things, like the smell of freshly-cut grass or the way the moon looks behind a thin cloud at the end of October. I love all paths to the Divine, no matter how apparently twisty or turny or opposite, because all things must return to their Source, because there is nothing other than the Source. I have discovered that, in this lifetime, in the form of my Guru, Adi Da Samraj. Who knew. Certainly not me. But otherwise, I am friendly and open and flexible to a certain degree, though not necessarily supportive of egoic bullshit (read: drama). Music:I like a nice tune. I also like a complex one. What I don't like is Boulez and his ilk; no matter how fabulous their ears may be, that music doesn't penetrate me below my neck. I am unmoved. All should kneel before Bach and Brahms; I also have a rather outsized liking for the music of Ernest Bloch. As far as pop, I enjoy one or two songs by almost everyone, from Ben Folds to Tori Amos, Rufus Wainwright to Aretha Franklin. Aqua. Clay Aiken. Laurie Anderson is a favorite, though she's hard to classify, aside from being simply fabulous.
