About Me |
|
| During my last visit to New York, I developed a terrible ear infection. It was exacerbated by the shifts in elevation, by the damp and cold weather, by the lack of sleep. The pressure and the pain of it was awful, and I pouted about it in the comfort of my friend Becca's kitchen in Yonkers. Aggressively loving, Becca grabbed me by the chin, "I know just the thing! A natural cure! From the internet!" Soon after I was laying on my side on the floor as Becca dumping apple cider vinegar into my ears. Unfortunately, nothing was resolved. My ears were still infected, but now they were filled with a pungent liquid. My head smelled like old socks. "Did it work?" Becca asked. Through the vinegar and the bacteria, her voice sounded muffled and distant. I shook my head and discovered that my phone had been ringing. Answering, I struggled through the conversation as best I could with decreased hearing. Becca disappeared.
"Ow!" There was an excruciating pain in my left ear, and I looked over to find Becca shoving a clove of garlic into it. "About.com said this should do it." The scent of old socks mingled sweetly with the garlic. I was about to comment on this as Becca whipped around to fetch more cloves, throwing one elbow back and hitting me squarely in the face. Showbeast Honey Ghost Puppets My Reel We recorded this in the pantry. |
