| .. Mystic Soundscapes Radio has selected "Passion Dance" from Heath's album, "Anthem" as one of it's best tracks for 2007! Ask Heath Vercher what his music is all about and he’ll say life. “Without a doubt, the most important aspect of my music is its ability to reach other people and bring them together,” Heath says. Having reached deep into his own experience to bring listeners the music of Patch Work and Anthem, Heath is poised to release his next CD of original music. With these new compositions comes a different side of Heath’s musical soul. “Before, all of my music was rooted in things more tangible,” Heath says. “Take the music of Patch Work, for example. On that release, you saw pieces about my relationship, places I’ve been, and even things I’ve experienced. And on Anthem, we continued that concept but rooted it more in a different sound. It was a little more upbeat, a little more positive, but still me.” With the coming of Soulfire, Heath has pulled out all the stops to bring his friends and listeners a very deep and personal album. To the composer, this music is just as much about life as before, but in a very different way. This is music free of association. This is pure music. Passionate. Fiery. Music from the soul. This is music that will stir your inner being and set your spirit ablaze. “That’s exactly what it is,” Heath says. “And I wouldn’t have it any other way.” The moving piece Rapture may say it best with its heartfelt piano, stirring strings, and hauntingly beautiful flute. Quite possibly the pivotal piece on the album, Heath has seen many through difficult times with multiple performances of this piece. It was also the piece which garnered him an amazing number of votes to advance to the second part of a contest in which the grand prize was a prized spot at Austin City Limits. The only instrumental performer to make it, the piece stands as a testament to the amazing amount of support others have begun to show for Heath’s music and his cause. 2007 also saw Heath as a top pick for Mystic Soundscapes and Audiosyncracy for work from his second album, Anthem. “Over all, it was a good year, and with Christmas doing well in December, we had a great couple of releases,” Heath says. Anxious to share his message with the world, Heath is beginning to shape his music for the future, and changing the world, one person at a time. As always, remaining yours in music, as in life. |
