| The origins of Empyrean may never be known. Although most scholars agree it most likely rose during the fall of Rome, there have been unreliable accounts of it existing for centuries before. Some have even gone as far as to link it to the crucifixion of Christ. One thing is for certain though, it has produced one of the most notorious secret societies known to man, the Agno Tri-Alis. The Agno Tri-Alis is focused solely in the matters of music. Sounds simple right? Wrong. For several millennia, they have sought to preserve the essence of the soul. Legend has it that the society began with six immortals. Although, they cannot die, their spirits can. They soon discovered that music was the most effective way of reviving their spirits, which were reborn with each new piece they composed. But with each new composition they trapped more and more beings, each having to renew it's spirit with music. It was here a difference emerged among them. Like the original six, some would have to revive their spirits by composing, but the others required only listening to it to achieve the same effect. So began the everlasting cycle. |
