| In the three years that Hear for Now has been playing publicly, (over 100 shows!) the group has changed sound and personnel as much as the band name suggests. Much to their listener's satisfaction! Over time, they’ve worked with some of the Chico area’s most talented up-and-coming artists…including, but not limited to: John Staedler ; songwriter/saxophonist... Carly Ann ; singer/songwriter... One Up the Acoustic DJ ; beatboxer/songwriter... and AP3 ; rapper/producer... Their debut album, “Something Small” , was finally released this fall. "Something Small" is an orchestrated example of HfN’s history as a band and as friends. All of the above artists, and more, collaborated in-studio to record carefully crafted versions of songs like, “When I Die” , “Hypnotized” , and “Higher Good” . Another favorite is “I Want 2 Be With U” , their acoustic/salsa rendition of AP3’s track of the same name from his 2nd album, “Tha’ Mix Tape” , with AP3 himself providing the lyrics. HfN has been seen, in Chico, at: Lost on Main, The Maltese, Chico State Campus, Monk’s Wine Lounge, Off Limits, LaSalle's, Café Coda, Has Beans, Starbucks, Thursday Night Market, Café Flo, The Graduate , and private parties; as well as being featured in the Synthesis and on 90.1 KZFR. Outside of Chico, they’ve played Ireland’s 32 in San Francisco; Wild Mountain Fair in Concow, CA; Mugshots Coffeehouse in Oroville, CA; and The 13th Floor in Baltimore, MD. Also, “Hypnotized” was recently selected for the Chico News and Review's Chico Area Compilation album. Not ones to rest on their laurels, Hear for Now has already begun recording their as-yet-unnamed second album. New songs like, “Woke Up” , “Trust” , and “My Way ” have such drive, they leave the listener wondering what's next to come out of the feisty five-piece.
