| Katya Gorrie is a singer composer & performer from North America now living and working in the UK. In the past few years she has toured extensively and recorded two new albums.POUSSE CAFÉ has been featured on BBC Radio2 BBC Radio Suffolk Bristol Devon Cornwall Wiltshire and Somerset. Also on Campbell Burnap’s Jazz program on SMOOTHFM, and most recently part of Ned Sherrin’s radio program, COUNTERPOINT.Her second album, TALES OF MISBEHAVIOR, has just been released on Mainstem Records and has commanded the attention of audiences and reviewers around the country. Katya has had the pleasure of working with some of the UK’s top Jazz musicians, Dave Newton Derek Nash Mike Gorman Oli Hayhurst Dave O’Higgins Martin Shaw Anthony Kerr Dylan Howe Ian Bateman & Denny Ilett.Katya began her professional singing career after four years of classical studies at the Conservatory of Music and another three years in an intensive Jazz program at the renowned Capilano College in Canada. Katya went on to work with some of the best musicians in Canadian Jazz: Oliver Gannon Miles Black Bruno Hubert Andre LaChance Chris Gestrin and Brad Turner…..As well as writing and arranging music for her own recordings, Katya has composed music for theatre, founded three vocal Jazz trios, is the songwriter and lead singer with her all girl blues band The Rogue Dolls and has worked in film and television as both a singer and an actor.Katya tours in Canada the US and Europe performing at festivals clubs and theatres to enthusiastic audiences.PRESS REVIEWSIt was quickly apparent that Katya Gorrie is an experienced and professional singer.
