| TAUFIQ - son of the Legendry Tabla player 'Ustad Allarakha', younger brother to the world renowned percussionist 'Ustad Zakir Hussain'...... Taufiq was introduced to the world of percussion at an early stage by his Guru & father Ustad Allarakha. He moved from tabla to other percussion instruments due to his exposure to early collaboration of his father with Buddy Rich and Zakir Bhai's, with Shakti. TAUFIQ has over the last 5-6 years shown that he is one of India's best percussionist and has been touring across the world with his live sets as also with Zakir Bhai's 'Rhythm Ensemble'................................................... ........... This section will try an help you keep abreast of his work and hear some of the great music he has created n on FreeSpirit Records in India.------------------------------------------------------ ---------------------------------------------------------Tra ck 1- The Tree of Rhythm - is a track where Ustad Allahrakha is featured singing as alo Ustad Zakir Hussain , Taufiq & Fazal on tabla.... the first and only song where the whole family is on one track. ............................................................ ............................. Track 2- Rhydhun - is an Accapella track done by Taufiq & Shankar Mahadevan..a true classic..................................................... ........... Track 3- Asha Wali Dhoop - is a track done for Tsunami relief.. composed by Taufiq feat. Ustad Zakir Hussain , Ustad Sultan Khan (both singing & playing), plus Shankar Mahadevan & Ali Azmat on vocals, George Brooks on Sax and a host of others adding their magic for the cause.............. Taufiq has done some more work recently on another label. The followup to Rhydhun is on the cards now..and should be out in the near future.........
