In 1987, writer-guitarist Josh Alan Friedman sold his soul to the devil at the
Crossroads of the World (Broadway & 42nd Street) and moved to Texas.
There he barnstormed the state, earning the sobriquet "Josh Alan, Czar
of Atomic Acoustic Guitar." He won three Dallas Observer Music Awards
for Best Acoustic Act, and rocked whole arenas with his Guild D-40,
opening for such acts as Johnny Winter, Bad Company, War, Huey Lewis &
the News, Marianne Faithful, Mitch Ryder, Lonnie Mack, Gatemouth Brown and Koko Taylor. Guitar trademarks include acoustic feedback, surf instrumentals and an acoustic medley of Black exploitation movie soundtracks. |
