Pimp Myspace Sorry there are no tracks for you to listen to...YET...coming, coming, coming soon meanwhile... LYRICS : I have a lot of unpublished/unproduced lyrics and am looking for musicians to collaborate with. Check my blog. SINGING : I'm a late bloomer, emerging with an insistent voice that has shaken-off the shackles of its repression by screaming punk, seeking expression in whatever musical style the musicians I join on stage in Barcelona jam sessions are willing and able to improvise. They are mostly open and encouraging, and extremely patient even though I avoid singing covers and when they say: "What do you want to sing?" I usually say: "Just play something and I'll make it up as we go along." You can read a list of jams and some of the musicians I perform with here: http://alisonboston.com I lived in Budapest, Hungary for four years and while there, did a series of concerts with a jazz trio at the Godor Klub. We were called: "Speaking Music". ...then for about a year I jammed regularly in my flat with saxophonist Varga Zsolt, and composer/violinist/flautist/vocalist Georgi Stojanov. Georgi and I composed together the music for a long poem called 'Hope', and we gave one public performance... RECORDING : I've had one song produced and recorded: "Techno Toys Blues" on Hungary's Anima Sound System's CD 'We Strike', picked up by Mole Records for their compilation CD 'Listening Pearls'...lyrics and voice are mine, music is Anima.... (Fortunately I now have some techno toys!) PERFORMING : In the 1980's, while in Ottawa, Canada, I did a lot of performance art based in my poetic texts. In response to this work, received a generous Explorations grant from Canada Council for the Arts. I'm trained for the stage (theater) and have also done some acting. I've also done ear training, voice training, and vocal workshops : overtone singing, vocal percussion, and a range of experimental. There's a list of these somewhere on my website. His Ringo Star accompaniment is absolutely awesome! You gotta love his unabashed vocal freedom. It rules! I love swimming and have a lot of work inspired by that activity. So here's a fish tank in honor of that work - given by Canadian MySpace friend and multi-disciplinary artist Brigitte! .....and here's a poem I wrote that works with that tank...now to figure out how to add audio to the video clip (I'm temporarily digitally challenged...) Up till then, people had mentioned Janis Joplin, Bjork, Nina Hagen, and Lydia Lunch! A pretty powerful group of women to be compared with! Thank you! Tonight, someone compared me to PJ Harvey! Wow! But I think ultimately, I just sound like me.I also kinda like what this place says: You Are Kermit Hi, ho! Lovable and friendly, you get along well with everyone you know. You're a big thinker, and sometimes you over think life's problems. Don't worry - everyone know's it's not easy being green. Just remember, time's fun when you're having flies!
