DIRTYPHONICS – BIOGRAPHY 2008 Pho, Playte, Capskod, and Pitch In formulate the ambitious and energy filled crew of producers known as Dirtyphonics. Powerful and innovative, their Drum and Bass is setting the dancefloors on fire via the turntables of Simon Bassline Smith, Crissy Criss, Micky Finn, Sylo, Otis, and Nicky Black Market...Dirtyphonics' tunes have been hitting the radio waves in the U.K on Crissy Criss' BBC 1XTRA show, on Origin FM, and on Radio Frequency…In France their music has been showcased on both radio Nova and France Culture ! In 2006, they released their first track, Reggaetronik rmx, immediately voted « unsigned track of the month » by Knowledge, the renown English Drum and Bass magazine. In 2008, the tune Get Dirty (presented as the « highlight » of the album in mixmag) appeared on the long awaited « Roots & Future album» from the Dope Ammo camp, alongside the biggest names from the international Drum and bass scene: Baron, MC Tali, G-Dub, Benny Page, Taxman… Two other Dirtyphonics songs, Hoverboard and Knievel are also signed on XRAY records; Lyrical Switch is being released on Jennyka's album and loads of future bangers are already rocking the decks around the world on dubplates! In addition to Playte's and Pitch In's freshly explosive dj sets, Dirtyphonics offers the most advanced live of the current Drum and Bass scene. Refusing the cliché concept of a live performance assisted by computers, Dirtyphonics only uses machines: 5 turntables, MPCs, filters,effects, and even a Game Boy ! This eclectic harmony of electronic layers is enriched by strategically placed scratches and accapelas. To get a better grip on the energy that this live eminates, the best thing is to do is to experience it yourself.
