Some of the most positive aspects are the guitarriffs (brutal and pompous) and the vocals (comparable to Glen Benton, but with an extra thick edge to it), which both happen to be done by Sarp Keski. Benton did not only influence Keski on the way he sings, but also on how to write simplistic but interesting anti-religious lyrics. Biography Founded by Erhan Karaca (drums) and Sarp Keski (guitar/vox) in 2004 in Istanbul, Heretic Soul has a death metal sound combined with some thrash and black metal parts. Most of the lyrics are anti-religious and rest of all is about life and personal situations. 2006 First demo "Everything's Meaningless and Grey" containing 7 tracks recorded. Orçun Kocakoç joined the band as a session bass player. With this demo Heretic Soul introduced theirselves to local audition and got some reviews. Then Heretic Soul started to appear in concerts in several cities like Ankara, Istanbul, Bursa, Kocaeli, Zonguldak and Yalova. 2007 Promo CD "Life Becomes Our Grave" containing 6 tracks recorded in Midas'in Kulakligi Studios in Ankara. It has the characteristic sound of the band; more agressive, faster and anti-religious. |
