| A SHORT BIO : The Fates started playing in April 2003 in Rome;the band was formed by Manuela Bosco(vocals), Marco Chioffi(guitars and synths), Francesco Iannelli(drums).For live playing, the band was joined by Gabriele Caputo(bass/guitar), performing in a lot of festivals and clubs in Italy.In 2004-2005 the band worked on new songs, in collaboration with an indie label from Seattle, WA.Two songs, ’Red Butterflies’ and ‘Obsession’, have been broadcast by Radio Rai 1, the main italian national radio channel and in Feb. 2008 three songs are going to be released in Europe on Nagual Records(Nomadism Records).Currently the band is recording new tracks and planning new live dates in 2008. I recenti accadimenti mondiali sono spunto per le riflessioni esistenziali di questa giovane ragazza: le Torri Gemelle di New York, la stazione di Atocha a Madrid, la metropolitana di Londra. Fino a quel momento non aveva mai affrontato l’idea della morte e tutto ciò che essa comporta: sofferenza, rabbia, rassegnazione, tristezza, solitudine... Ma ora si ritrova a fare i conti con questa possibilità: non affascinata ma impaurita. La morte come un’evoluzione facente parte dello stesso ciclo della vita, forse l’unico che Viola realmente accetta. Lei è un’inguaribile sognatrice, perché sognare permette di cambiare la percezione del mondo, perché sognare è meglio di vivere. Tuttavia allo stesso tempo rimane schiava delle proprie paure, cerca di costruire dentro di sé un sistema di protezione dal resto del mondo, che a sua volta diviene un sistema che non la lascia più vivere. Non le rimangono che le sue ali, che nessuno potrà mai toglierle. Manuela Bosco è nata a Roma nel 1980. Figlia di un infermiere professionale e un’accompagnatrice turistica, è la primogenita di tre figlie. Laureata in Lettere, ha lavorato per qualche tempo come traduttrice dal francese presso la “Comingsoon Television” per poi diventare collaboratrice della rivista scientifica “Essere e mangiare”.
