My Name Is Ross Valentine, I have been into dance music since about 1989, I was only 9 when my brothers started buying records like LFO, 808 state and other acid house classics, They brought home mix tapes with acid tracks like the Hithouse`s Jack to the sound of the underground and Marshall Jeferson`s Move your body. After hearing this new style of music I was totaly bemused. Then things moved on into the Rave era and mixtapes from those Raves became a common thing in our household. There was always a dance beat to be listening too!!!. This kept me in total amusment about how the sound of electronic music could move and evolve round different styles and genre`s of music. When I was 14 I started to get into to Hardcore and just as the sound of the rave had changed, got faster and more energetic I became even more interested in how these sounds were being made and produced. I soon started trying my hand at this stuff in very basic way on an old Amiga computer with a very limited 8bit sampler. By the time i was 16 I met a friend who had a set of decks in his living room and he was having all weekend parties and to my amazement the sound I was into was changing again to a more laid back House and Techno sound, Raves were dying here in Scotland and clubs like The Arches and Room At The Top or Cream down in Liverpool were the place to be. I soon wanted to promote my own club night!, The Coasters Arena in Falkirk was the place for it to happen! I actually managed to make this a reality, even though I was not old enough to drink in the club, I was their promoter and Dj for a number of different events over the next two years. By this time trance had become the mainstay of the dance industry!. Records like Da Hool`s Meet her at the Love parade were blasting out clubs everywhere and I soon wanted to go back to writing music and after hearing this even newer sound i decided to give it a go. I eventualy graduated from Falkirk College in 2004 with my HND in music technology.
